Uniformity

The exhibition is closed. Please enjoy the information about this past exhibit.

Clothing That Unites By definition a uniform is “an identifying outfit or style of dress worn by members of a given profession, organization or rank.” Uniforms provide a visible connection to these institutions, uniting the participants under common missions, philosophies and standards. Uniforms also serve as a symbol to others, readily identifying the group and the code of conduct expected from it. Over the years, the Castle Museum has collected a wide assortment of uniforms worn by area residents. From military and police to baseball and band uniforms, they all tell a story that connects them to professions, schools, activities and organizations throughout Saginaw County.
