Field Trips

The Castle Museum offers students a great place to learn about Saginaw's rich history. They can experience firsthand what the area was like hundreds of years ago through artifacts in our archaeology exhibit and the lumberjacks who invested in the vastly wooded region. Students will learn how this great city transformed from being the "lumber capital of the world" to an automotive manufacturing industry, when they view three floors of amazing displays and exhibits.

It is easy to bring your students here! Most of our tours generally last from one to two hours. To help bring history to life we offer educational  activities to enhance the exhibit experience. We are able to focus the tour based on your classroom’s needs and study requirements. You will find the Michigan Benchmarks and Standards for our exhibits here.

Our tours are reasonably priced:

  • A guided tour is $2.00 per student

  • A guided tour with an activity is $3.00 per student

  • Teachers and chaperones are always free

We ask that tours be scheduled a minimum of two weeks in advance.

Scout Tours

Boy and Girl Scouts are always welcome to explore the Castle Museum. While some Museum exhibits may fit your badge requirements, we will do our best to tailor our guided tour to meet your specific scouting requirements, schedule and age group.

Scout leaders are encouraged to call and schedule an adventure into the past.

Arrange a guided tour and bring your troop along.

  • Guided tour cost is $2 per scout.

  • Guided tour with activity is $3 per scout.

  • Scout leaders and parent chaperones are free of charge.

Submit your field trip reservation online here.

Group/Adult Tours

Guided tours for groups of 10 or more are welcome! Make the Castle Museum part of your next family reunion, group outing or convention visit. Touring the Castle Museum is a wonderful way to learn about Saginaw County history, see unique architecture and enjoy some camaraderie.

Tours are led by our docents and last approximately one hour, but can be adjusted to meet your group's need.

For more information on bringing a group to the Castle Museum or to book a tour, please contact Marketing and Events Coordinator, Alexandria Jones at (989) 752-2861, ext. 315 or by email at ajones@castlemuseum.org. We ask that tours be scheduled a minimum of one week in advance.
