Hateful Things

Hateful Things, is a powerful exhibit from the Jim Crow Museum of Racist Memorabilia at Ferris State University. It contains images of violence against African Americans as well as the Civil Rights struggle for racial equality from the late 19th century to the present. It serves as a strong and compelling reminder of America's racist past and provides an opportunity for people to engage in a discussion about a difficult topic.

The creator and curator of this display, Dr. David Pilgrim, says it's "all about teaching, not a shrine to racism." This exhibit is an educational tool to encourage people to learn, reflect and gain a deeper understanding of race relations.

Due to the nature of the objects on display, this exhibit is recommended for those 12 years and older. Those younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
