Downto(w)n Saginaw - Where History Meets Fashion

Perhaps nothing is more intimate than clothing and the way that it connects with individual life stories. Featuring garments from the Museum's costume collection, Downto(w)n Saginaw, focuses on the history of Saginaw from 1890 until the start of the Great Depression in 1929. Exploring the stories of the individuals who participated in reinventing Saginaw after the lumbering era and transforming it into an important industrial center.

 

This exhibit uses their clothing to reveal the lives of the people who made Saginaw a vibrant and intriguing place.
