An enriching and fun filed trip awaits students at the Castle Museum. From a guided tour to special exhibition-related activities, the Castle curatorial staff is happy to design a program to fit your field trip needs. And with prices ranging from $1.00 - $4.00 per person, it's affordable too!

Here are some helpful hints to consider before booking a Castle Museum tour:

  • Group Size
Our ideal group size is 30 students. While we can accommodate larger numbers, we ask that they be split into groups of 20 -30 prior to arrival to avoid confusion and to save time.
  • Time
A typical unguided tour usually lasts about 1 hour. A guided tour, depending on the exhibits, can last from 1 to 1 1/2 hours. If your group is participating in a tour and activity, plan for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
  • Preparation
While we suggest that you contact us as soon as possible, we would appreciate at least two weeks notice before your arrival.
  • Chaperones
Chaperones are a great asset when conducting a tour; not only do they help the students, but they also get a chance to experience the museum for free! We ask that there be at least one adult for every 5 students to ensure maximum supervision.
  • Pre-Visit
A great way to begin your Castle Museum experience would be to host a pre-visit in your classroom by one of our staff members. The purpose of a pre-visit is to get the students excited about coming to the museum as well as thinking about what they can expect to see when they come here. An excellent prelude to a tour, pre-visits are free of charge.
