Revealing Our Buried Past: Archaeology of the Saginaw Valley

Animal skulls, arrow and spearheads, vibrant photos, video explorations and a multitude of unearthed treasures spanning thousands of years are part of one of the Museum’s largest ongoing exhibits.

On display are many artifacts discovered on federal land at the Shiawassee Wildlife Refuge. The exhibit also chronicles the tools and procedures used to uncover, document and preserve evidence of earlier times. In addition to our exhibit, the Museum is proud to have a full-time archaeologist on its staff. To learn more about his work, please visit our Archaeology page.
